Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 7, 2020
The Meeting was opened with prayer at 8:08 P.M. All officers were in attendance, except for Cindy Labon, the vice president. The agenda was approved. There were two corrections to the minutes, they were (1) that the business called ‘”the Big Bad Wolf” in the minutes spells its name “woof and )2) that the NCAC chapter is also known as the Silver Spring Chapter. Sue reported that the last activity of the treasury took place on March 17 when Joyce Feinberg joined. The processing fee from square was $9.50. The balance was $10,030. We now have 14 paid members.
Ray reported that the World Possibility Disability Expo has been rescheduled for October 3, in Prince Georges County at the sports plex from 11:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. Ray felt that this will be particularly appropriate as October is disabilities month.

Because of the Virus, Ray has been unable to meet with the gentleman who is working on the palm cards, but they will be finished as soon as possible. The banner will still be available as will the door prizes from Big Bad Woof.
Several people have asked what CAGDU does for their members. It was suggested that some money be earmarked to meet the needs of members needing special help in getting food, supplies, or medical help for their guide dogs during this emergency. A motion was made to set aside $1,000 for this purpose. The motion was approved. Gary suggested that the $8,000 set aside to meet the needs of Guide Dogs who were experiencing medical emergencies could be used in this time of emergency. This will be discussed with the membership at the next membership meeting. Members wishing to utilize this service can call CAGDU’s phone number at 301-263-7371. Ray will bring requests to the Board for approval. Ray is authorized to make decisions for the Board in case of emergency situations. The Board stipulated that this service is only available to paid-up members and that this service can only be for Guide Dogs.

Ray said that our Radio show will be launched on Friday, April 10 from 3:00 until 3:30 P.M on Blogtalk Radio. Our first guest will be the President of the Seeing Eye, Glenn Hoagland. The show will also be archived on the Web site. The show is called: “CAGDU, About Your Dog and You.” The show will feature a segment highlighting the activities of our members showing what they are doing and how their dogs help them do it.

Information is continuing to be posted on our web site. The web site’s URL is CAGDU.org. We were cautioned to put the URL in the address bar to avoid getting a lot of superfluous information. Our next membership meeting is Thursday, April 16. It will be via Free conference Call.
The meeting was adjourned with prayer.
Respectfully submitted,
Gary LeGates, Secretary
